ABOUT

Hey there!

I'm grateful that you made your way across the vast and dangerous world of the internet and found yourself clicking on the link to my amateur blog. Welcome! Feel free to browse through my online diary. Sip on a drink, and while you're at it, listen to one of my playlists (lol).

This is the about page, if you haven't figured out yet, thanks to my unnecessary ramblings. This is where I tell y'all about me, what I do, ya-da ya-da. You get the picture. Don't expect me to do a good job, though. I never liked writing about myself.

I'm Janina Talabis, 18 and a beauty queen (I love you if you get the reference). I'm a lover of all things black or white. I can't live without music, so I throw full-on fits whenever I break another pair of doomed earpods. I waste my time watching YouTube videos. Like any millennial with an internet connection, I can spend two forevers on Buzzfeed, I hate the government, and I complain a lot. I also love fashion. I don't hesitate wasting money on clothes. Often times, I find myself buying an article of clothing before buying what I really need. I also skip meals so I can buy lipstick. Not that my lisptick is expensive, though.

Now onto the serious bit. I study at the University of the Philippines Los Banos as a BS Development Communication student. I love my degree program because I get to practice and apply what I love doing while helping others in the process (#CommunicationWithHeart). "What is Development Communication?", you ask? No. I won't answer you. That's why there's Google.

I'm also an intersectional feminist. Intersectional feminism is the brand of feminism that is inclusive and advocates for the equality of all races as well as trans men and women. In other words, it's the kind of feminism that Taylor Swift doesn't know about.

Here's a list of my favorite things and various other information, in case you went as far as finishing the fourth paragraph on this page and you want to read more:

Favorite band?

Don't. Please don't do this to me. It's punishment. (But it's a toss between The 1975 or Wolf Alice right now. And that's just for this month. I change my favorite band every month. Another Janina Fun Fact!)

Favorite movie?

Fight Club is my all-time favorite. A close second is Interstellar.

Favorite color?

It's purple, not really black and white. I just wanted to sound #edgy on the third paragraph.

Favorite book?

I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire seven times. That's the most times I repeated a book, so it's probably my favorite. Book junkies, feel free to judge (and suggest some literary masterpieces just like it so I can expand my taste?).

Favorite member of One Direction?

Whenever someone asks me this, I counter them with "After-Zayn 1D or OT5 1D?" If they say "After-Zayn", I would pick Harry. But my favorite has always been Zayn. I'm also a shameless Ziam shipper. Larry can die. If you're a Larrie and you're reading this, fight me.

Favorite clothing brand?

I shop a lot at Forever 21 and H&M. They're good quality at reasonable prices. I know, I know. They're sweatshop brands, which is why they're affordable. I don't condone it, but come on. Less than 600 for jeans?

Anyway, If I get rich someday and I'm gonna be able to afford Givenchy or Chanel, I'd say my favorite brand is Versace.

Concerts you went to?

I went to the Justin Bieber in 2011. One of the most lit nights of my life. I also went to the Issues show at Venice Piazza. It was a crazy experience (mosh pits, anyone?). The last one I went to was The 1975 at the MOA Arena. I ugly cried so hard when they played "Me". Also, I was gonna go to the All Time Low and The Maine concert last year, but school got in the way, like always. *sigh*

Sooooo, that's me. Go on and leave this page now. There are other more interesting stuff on this website you'd rather read, I'm telling you.
